Storefront matches retailers, designers with short term rentals

Storefront, which calls itself, "the Airbnb of retail spaces," launched in Chicago in July to help link retailers, designers and artists seeking pop up spaces with available short term leases. It's the fourth city for the San Francisco-based service founded a year and a half ago and already serving New York and Los Angeles. Like Airbnb, the popular site that lets people rent their apartments or houses directly to guests; Storefront reduces the hunt for a short term lease to just a couple of clicks. Since its founding, more than 1,000 popup shops have been set up through Storefront, in spaces ranging from empty storefronts to art galleries to boutiques seeking to host a store within a shop, generating more than $40 million in merchandise sales, said air jordan 3 retro.ofounder and chief operating officer Tristan Pollock. More than 300 spaces already are recorded for rent in Chicago, the company said. Listings range from $75 daily to lease space in the rear of a Lakeview tattoo parlor to $5,000 daily for an office loft near Goose Island. Storefront, which in April procured $7.3 mill air jordan 13 black red.on from Spark Capital, aims to ease the investigation for short-term rentals by listing accessible turn key properties and letting potential renters investigation by price, location and square footage. Some spaces listed as "Instant Publication" are available same-day. It simplifies what can otherwise be a time consuming process of walking neighborhoods, looking for brokerage indications, calling to see if your space can be acquired short term and negotiating price, Pollock said. Additionally, it helps out of state companies find rentals as they attempt to dip their toes into new marketplaces. The company offers free insurance for the popup, reviews and ratings of the spaces and suggestions about operating a temporary shop, like just how to hire temporary staff. While it's free to list a property and to hunt, Storefront charges a fee of 5 percent of the rental price if a deal is made, which can be split between the renter and the property owner. With strategies to move her namesake clothing boutique from the Ukrainian Village neighborhood to downtown, Anastasia Chatzka sought to first open a downtown pop up store to examine the new marketplace and spread the word about her brand. Storefront air jordans 11.aved the property from the hassle of the popup real estate search, she said. "It was really simple," said Chatzka, who is one of the company's first Chicago customers. Chatzka, through Storefront, located a 1,400-square-foot space inside the Block 37 shopping mall. Chatzka'sup is bigger than her long-term 950-square foot store. Chatzka, whose routine shop has a design studio where she makes custom attire, expects the pop up helps her lay some groundwork as she seeks more permanent gouges downtown., ideally in the Gold Coast, to gain exposure to a distinct clientele.
